Nearly S$300k raised by Down Syndrome Association at gala dinner

Almost S$300,000 was raised by the Down Syndrome Association (DSA) in their gala dinner this year.

During the gala dinner, several musicians who had Down Syndrome also performed, as they fought to prove that those with the disability can still contribute to society.

For a touch of glamour, a fashion show was held with handmade designs from natural materials like cottons and silks.

Making a special appearance at the gala dinner was 15-year-old Monisha Iswaran, who gave renditions of Sheryl Crow’s music.

Among the guests was her father, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office S Iswaran, and Chief Justice-designate Sundaresh Menon. Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports, Halimah Yacob also graced the event.
