Project Yellow Feet aims to raise awareness of special needs

Some 330 residents and community partners, including special needs children, walked their way into the Singapore Book of Records this morning.

The challenge for this group of people – in a sea of yellow caps, slippers and tops – was to walk in a single-file human chain for some two kilometres at the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio park.

Called “Project Yellow Feet”, its aim is to raise awareness of special needs. The event was graced by MPs Zainudin Nordin and Denise Phua, who is also the president of the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore).

The event was held in conjunction with World Autism Day on April 2 and organised by the Toa Payoh East Grassroots Organisations, with the support of Pathlight School, Eden School and First Toa Payoh Secondary School.

It also hoped to attract more professionals in the estate to participate and bond with each other.
