A charity art exhibition showcasing the works of local veteran artist Madam Lim Sew Yong was opened by President Tony Tan Keng Yam on Saturday.
The event at the ARTrium, at the Old Hill Street Police Station, is part of the President’s Challenge Charity Art Exhibition.
It aims to raise S$300,000 to help the needy, including the elderly and disabled.
The exhibition features original paintings by Madam Lim.
The paintings are on display till Wednesday, May 29, and is in support of the President’s Challenge 2013.
Also present at the exhibition were Acting Minister for Social and Family Development, Mr Chan Chun Sing, and Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Lawrence Wong.
