Some 5,000 participants walk to raise funds for S’pore Children’s Society

Some 5,000 participants took to the streets at the Ang Mo Kio Park on Sunday morning for an annual fund-raising event — Walk for Our Children.

The event aims to raise S$480,000, with proceeds going to the Singapore Children’s Society to help bring relief and happiness to children in need.

Health Minister Gan Kim Yong flagged off the three-kilometre walk.

The event also showcased a four-metre tall windmill among 5,000 pinwheels which symbolises the hopes and dreams of children in need.

Participants were also treated to stage performances, including a Zumba dance workout, magic shows and Wushu performances.
