400 refurbished laptops donated to charities by IT service provider NCS

IT service provider NCS has donated 400 refurbished laptops to 10 charities under the auspices of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).

Apart from supporting the administrative needs of the charities, the laptops will facilitate classroom teachings as well.

The MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School will receive 125 laptops. The rest will be distributed to the other charities.

“We are happy to receive the laptops from NCS, and have already identified uses for these laptops. We will be utilising them in our computer classes to teach our students computer skills. We will also be passing some of these laptops to students who do not have a computer at home,” said Sharon Ng, Principal, MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School.

NCS’ parent company SingTel has raised $24 million through its philanthropic programme, the SingTel Touching Lives Fund (STLF). The donation is an extension of the already close relationship between SingTel and NCSS.
