SingHealth raises record S$408,000 for President’s Challenge

SingHealth has raised some S$408,000 for the President’s Challenge 2013.

It is an all-time record since the group started raising funds for the challenge, 10 years ago.

The cheque was presented to President Tony Tan Keng Yam in the presence of Health Minister Gan Kim Yong at an integrated family carnival on Saturday.

The carnival wraps up some four months of activities by various SingHealth institutions to raise funds for the needy.

The various institutions include Singapore General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

They organised activities like charity bazaars, table soccer, and a hawker fare to raise funds.

This year, the SingHealth group effort was helmed by the National Cancer Centre Singapore.

SingHealth has also adopted three of the 55 President’s Challenge beneficiaries — Bright Vision Hospital, New Hope Community Services and Life Community Services Society.
