Programme launched to encourage youths to be involved in community service

An ambassador programme has been launched to encourage youths to be involved in community service.

The YOUths Care Ambassadors Programme was launched on Saturday at the YOUths Care @ PAYM 2013 event by the People’s Association.

Three hundred and fifty youths have been appointed as ambassadors under the programme.

The People’s Association said these ambassadors will help to connect youths who want to be involved in community service, but do not know how to start.

A two-month long movement, YOUths Care @ PAYM 2013 will see 6,000 youths participating in community service activities.

The activities include educational trips for children from low-income families and children with special needs, refurbishment of homes for needy families, visits to elderly homes and care centres, and fund-raising projects.
