Staff at NTUC Income have created 1,000 terrariums in their personal time to raise funds for Society for the Physically Disabled.
In a statement on Monday, the labour movement’s insurance arm said over 800 of its employees were involved in the project over the past one-and-a-half weeks.
Together, they spent some 500 hours during lunch and after office hours to create the decorative miniature plant ecosystems housed in glass jars.
The terrariums will go on sale at S$20 each at NTUC Income branches on Giving Tuesday, which falls on 3 December.
The insurer hopes to raise S$20,000 for the Society for the Physically Disabled.
Giving Tuesday is a movement that started in the United States last year, said the statement.
In Singapore, it is led by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, and the insurer is one of its partners in the campaign.
