Some 400 beneficiaries of the Singapore Cancer Society had an early Christmas celebration this weekend.
The society’s annual Christmas Carnival was themed “Joy of Giving” this year, and one of its biggest presents is a donation of S$133,000 from the Old Rafflesian Association.
The money will be used to support the society’s services and programmes in public education, cancer screening, financial assistance, welfare, cancer support and hospice home care.
The society said it relies heavily on public donations as a voluntary welfare organisation, and it has been providing financial and psycho-social help for 49 years.
