MYMCA conducts a mentoring programme (MY Mentoring) that emphasizes on developing self-esteem and self-identity of lower Secondary Normal Academic students through developing their social emotional skills and social project work.
There is a need for peer mentors, and we are looking for them.
There are youths who have given up on themselves, their studies and their future because there wasn’t any one who took time to believe in them. Mentoring gives them someone who cares, who takes time to know them, who believes in them, and who guides them with advice, not answers.
Mentoring gives them hope.
So long as you’re ready to listen without any judgment, to support, to commit your time to understand and encourage them—you are ready to be mentor.
What’s in it for you?
- To lead
- To put your values into action
- To give back and inspire others
- To grow and help others grow
- To forge strong friendships
- To gain new perspectives
- To challenge and be challenged
- To explore career options in social work, psychology and education
