Volunteers needed for Colours Community Service Project (25 Jun 2016)

Organised by Leng Kee Youth Executive Committee, Colours is a youth-led community service project to rejuvenate the living environment of elderly, families with young children and the needy.

Colours aims to brighten the homes of needy Leng Kee residents, and to bring COLOURS to their lives.

Through this project, it aims to reach out to as many needy elderly as possible, living in rented apartments/one-room flats and help to restore cleanliness in their homes through giving the walls of their homes a fresh coat of paint.

By doing so, these people would have a living space that is cleaner, more hygienic and more conducive, improving their living conditions.

There will be an upcoming special session on 25th June 2016 for bedbug fumigation. Don’t worry, you need not know how to fumigate bedbugs, (because external vendors have been engaged to do the fumigation) but your help is definitely needed to move furniture out of the house and assist with simple cleaning after the fumigation!

Full protection suits will be provided for all volunteers. Do take a look at past photos for the session in January 2015 for an idea of how you would look like in these suits

As a volunteer, your job scope will be:
– Move furniture out of the house
– Fumigation and waiting time (volunteers will rest, have lunch and interact with the residents during this time)
– Return to the unit to clean up

Date: 25 June 2016
Venue: Lengkok Bahru (Redhill MRT)
Time: 8.30am to 3pm

C’mon and join the project and bring joy to the elderly and needy in this estate this June.
