Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre (Jurong) is a non-profit voluntary welfare organization (VWO) and it serves the residents and community of Jurong constituency.
One of the programs that the organization offers is the STAMP/STRIVE Program.
The Sports, Tuition and Mentoring Programme (S.T.A.M.P) was launched in February 2006 to reach out to at-risk children and youths within a school setting. S.T.A.M.P aims to train and improve these students physically, academically, and equip them with values and life skills through 3 key components: Sports, Tuition, and Mentoring.
VOLUNTEER MENTORS ARE NEEDED FOR 2017!
Volunteers will help out in the third component, Mentoring. Selected Mentors will be sponsored to undergo training on how to mentor youth.
Tentatively, the organisation is looking to recruit 35-45 mentors for Year 2017. About 3-5 mentors will be allocated to each school of 20 students. There are 9 participating school under Jurong area in this STAMPSTRIVE Program.
Description of Roles:
-To provide support and serve as positive role model and befriender to students and build positive relationships.
-To conduct mentoring sessions at respective schools based on the recommended curriculum provided.
-To help build self-esteem and motivation in the students, assist them with setting goals to achieve academic and personal success.

Required Commitment: From Jan 2017. 1 day weekly or 1 day every alternate week. 1.5 hours per session. At least 6 months – 9 months commitment throughout a whole year.
