​​Volunteers needed for Door-to-Door Outreach

In line with the government’s plan to drive senior volunteerism and to promote neighbourliness within the community, Fei Yue Community Services is actively looking for seniors (aged 50 and above) to be part of its Community Befriending Programme (CBP).

This programme aims to provide a more structured befriending service and psycho-support for seniors living alone/empty nesters residing at purchased flats in CCK/Yew Tee areas.

Volunteers are needed (preferably those who can converse in Mandarin/Malay/Dialects) to help in recruiting seniors for this programme. It will be done through door-to-door block outreach in Choa Chu Kang/Yew Tee areas.

Job Scope:
To introduce the new eldercare programme – Community Befriending Programme (CBP) through distribution of flyers.
To identify seniors who are living alone or might require befriending services
To identify active seniors who are willing to be befrienders

Event Start date: 06 Dec 2016
Event end date: 20 Dec 2016

Morning session (930am to 12pm) and/or Afternoon session (130pm to 4pm).

There are a total of 12 sessions. (Note: Volunteers are encouraged to commit for 6 sessions)

Actual dates are as follows:
06/12 (Tue), 09/12 (Fri), 10/12 (Sat), 12/12 (Mon), 16/12 (Fri), 20/12 (Tue)

**Kindly note that there is a compulsory 1-hour training to attend on 5 Dec (Mon), 5pm at Fei Yue Retirees’ Centre. Address is at Blk 11 Teck Whye Lane level 1.

Venue: Choa Chu Kang (Meeting point to be advised on the day of training)
