Volunteering Opportunities with SATA Commhealth

SATA Commhealth provides lifelong healthcare in the community, through preventive and primary care via its medical centres as well as mobile services for those who are vulnerable. For disadvantaged elderly consumers, SATA Commhealth provides home care and integrated social and healthcare, so they can age in place and with dignity.

The organisation is currently looking for volunteers to help in the following regular/ad-hoc events:

Community Interviewers (Ad-hoc)
– To understand Community Health & Wellness Assessment Surveys
– Four main languages [English, Chinese, Malay, Tamil] to conduct these street surveys every Friday afternoon alongside SATA CommHealth staff, (2 hours per month)

Befrienders for Elderly (Weekly)
– Help look out for any impending medical or social issues.
– Give ample time to befriend the elderly to build trust (30 mins per week)

Health Advocate (Daily)
– Bring up awareness to external public on the range of services that are available
– Identify further development which aspect pointers that can help increase the number of visitors to clinic
– To be located at all medical clinics

Service Ambassadors (Weekly)
– Customer satisfaction scores
– Distribution of drinks and light snacks to waiting patrons
– Located at SWMC, SJMC, SAMC and SUMC (Upon time permit)

Volunteer Camp Leaders Needed for MYMCA Children Camps 2020

Metropolitan YMCA Singapore (MYMCA) is looking for youth volunteers between the age of 15 to 25 years old to be its Camp Leaders.

Its Learning & Adventure Programmes are for 4-13 years old, and there will be one kids camp this upcoming March school holidays.

MYMCA needs youths who are interested in environmental issues!

Healthy Camp 2020
March 16-19
Daily 0800hrs – 1800hrs
Because the future of Singapore and our world lies in the hands of our children, MYMCA hopes to plant environmental concern in them and perhaps interest them in the broad and important discipline of environmental sustainability. These activities are designed for kids to understand the benefit of being tidier, organized & responsible. The values of being considerate and compassionate will also be emphasised.

MYMCA Learning & Adventure camp programmes focus on character and value development while having fun!

Its core values of Caring, Honesty, Responsibility and Respect shapes the design and guide the facilitation of its activities.

The campers are 5-13 years old.

All volunteers must be trained before leading in the camps.

Volunteers will be taught basic pedagogical approaches, child observation skills and camp facilitation skills.
Training Date: 14 March(Sat), 9pm to 12.30pm
Briefing Date: 14 March(Sat), 2.30pm to 3.30pm

Volunteers must be able to commit for the duration of the specific camp they express interest in!
Your commitment is very important for the experience of the campers.

OH! Open House – Open Call for Volunteers 2020

OH! Open House is a non-profit arts organisation which tells alternative stories of Singapore through art. Since 2009, OH! Open House has provided more than 20,000 people with the unique experience of appreciating art and heritage outside of museums and galleries – from strangers’ homes to underutilised public spaces.

This year, OH! Open House will be holding its biggest ever art walk across 3 spectacular factories in Sungei Kadut, and talking about man’s relationship with nature in a world faced with climate change.

OH! is looking for volunteers to help out!

Be part of the crusade to bring art out of museums and into the everyday spaces of Singapore. If you enjoy real stories, rediscovering cities and changing the way society experiences art, volunteer today!

Time commitment: 6 hours of training (broken down into 3 sessions), plus a minimum of 3 full days of volunteering during event.
Event dates: Weekends only, from 27th/28th June to 1st/2nd August.

Volunteer Roles:
1. OH! SUPERGUIDES – Lead visitors on an art tour around the sites & introduce artworks that reveal the forgotten stories of Singapore’s timber industry and how man’s relationship with nature will undergo changes in the face of climate change.

2. OH! SUPPORT CREW – Be in charge of ticketing and logistics from behind the scenes.
