Volunteers Wanted for National Boccia Championships 2019

SDSC is back, this time with the upcoming National Boccia Championships 2019 and YOU can be a part of it!

SDSC is looking for volunteers to facilitate the games by taking on roles of either Time Keepers or Linesmen. No prior experience is required as all necessary training will be provided.

Due to the importance of the event, SDSC is looking for volunteers who can commit to both the training and two days of championships.

1. Volunteer Training
Date: 23 November 2019 (Saturday)
Venue: Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore 65 Pasir Ris Drive 1
Time: 9am to 5pm
*Must attend this training to qualify for the championship event*

Meals provided: Lunch only. (Halal)
Attire: Sports Casual with Covered shoes
Volunteer T-Shirt will be provided.

2. National Boccia Championships 2019
Dates: 30 November and 1st December 2019 (Sat and Sunday)
Venue: Bedok HeartBeat Sports Hall Level 4
Time: 8am to 6pm
*Must commit for both days*

Meals provided: Lunch only (Halal)
Attire: Volunteer Tee ( Sports Casual with covered shoes)

Wild Rice – Looking for FOH volunteers for Peter Pan in Serangoon Gardens

 

Wild Rice is looking for fun and enthusiastic individuals to volunteer for its year-end Pantomime, Peter Pan in Serangoon Gardens.

The show will run from 21 Nov to 28 Dec 2019 at The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre @ WILD RICE, FUNAN Level 4.

Come and be a part of the drama!

Venue: The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre @ WILD RICE, FUNAN level 4
107 North Bridge Road, #04-08 FUNAN, Singapore 199918

FOH duties include:
– Welcoming guests at the theatre foyer;
– Give out programme booklets to audience;
– Ushering the audience into the theatre;
– Registering audience members as Friends of W!LD RICE

The show schedule for Peter Pan in Serangoon Gardens is as follows:
– Evening performances from Tuesday to Sunday at 7.30pm
– Matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday at 2.30pm

Interested volunteers must be able to commit to these timings for FOH duty:
– Evening performances: 6.30pm to 10pm
– Matinee performances: 1.30pm to 5pm

Dress Code: Full Black, smart casual. Please refrain from wearing slippers, singlets, shorts or school uniforms when on duty.

Wild Rice will offer:
– TWO (02) complimentary tickets to volunteers who complete FOH duty for SIX (06) shows;
OR
– ONE (01) complimentary ticket to volunteers who complete FOH duty for FOUR (04) shows.

The tickets may be redeemed after FOH duties have been completed. Community Involvement Programme (CIP) hours will be given upon request.

Volunteers needed for Singapore Chinese Orchestra’s Young People’s Concert

Singapore Chinese Orchestra(SCO)’s annual Young People’s concert is back!

SCO is looking for volunteers to help out at its Fringe activity booths! You can be someone that likes to interact with kids or someone who is passionate about educating you kids and youths on Chinese Orchestra!

If you’ve always been curious about how Chinese Orchestra was formed, and how Chinese Orchestra can play a part in enriching the lives of young children and youths, come join now!

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF VOLUNTEERS

1. Touch tour facilitator
Required on: 9 Nov 2019; 3:15pm – 6:30pm
Number of volunteers required: 2pax per instrument station
Number of stations: 7
Instruments: Dizi; Sheng; Suona; Erhu; Drum; Pipa; Ruan

What you do:
To understand briefly about the background of the instrument they are stationed at
To facilitate and allow participants to try out the instruments as much as possible
To engage and explain the background of the instrument as participants are interacting with it
Stamp the station’s stamp on participant’s “Passport” (House programme booklet) after they have interacted with the instrument

2. Badge maker
Required on: 9 Nov 2019; 3:15pm – 6:30pm
Number of volunteers required: 3 pax

What you do:
1 person to be solely in charge of handling with the badge maker and making the badges
1 person to check that participants have collected all 7 stamps before giving out the template for participants to design
1 person to facilitate and engage participants in the designing of the badges
