Emma Yong Fund to help theatre practitioners with critical illnesses

Local actress Emma Yong died at the age of 36 last month, after a prolonged battle with cancer. But her memory will live on through the stage, in a new play called “We Heart Emma!”.

Produced by the Dream Academy, the concert will feature Emma’s friends – many of them familiar faces in Singapore’s theatre scene.

It will be staged on Friday at the Esplanade at 7:30pm and 9:30pm, for one night only.

All proceeds from tickets sales will go to the “Emma Yong Fund”.

It aims to give aid to theatre practitioners in Singapore suffering from critical illnesses.

“Emma, even through the time that she was suffering from cancer, never once complained of pain or her illness. She always talked to me about how else we can help people and so when we decided to do the memorial concert, we decided we’d use it to set up this fund,” said local actress Selena Tan
