Rock the Kindness!

From 18th to 22nd June, World Change Agents from Blessings in a Bag, a non-profit charity organisation, will be collaborating with volunteers from the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) to distribute morning snacks around Singapore as part of a project named “One Week of Awesome”.

The public has to make “Awesome Pledges” in a multitude of ways to receive a variety of gifts from Boncafe coffee, Mr Bean vouchers, Pokka drinks and cupcakes, amongst other treats, around various locations like Raffles Place, Dhoby Ghaut and Mandarin Gallery.

This project’s mission is to bring an act of kindness to life each and every day of one week.

Ms Emily Teng, founder of Blessings in a Bag, says this week is to celebrate the “awesome” found in smaller things, like those that we take for granted or neglect to notice. She added that is it important to appreciate all acts of kindness, regardless of big or small.

Dr William Wan, General Secretary of SKM is proud that his organisation is part of this initiative and heartened to see the younger generation leading the pack and being engaged to create a more thoughtful and gracious culture locally.

In addition, at least 30 cyclists from the Singapore cycling community will be rallied to cycle for a cause. They will join in the distribution of Mr Bean Soymilk cups as well as biscuits and snacks to the less privileged residents of Ang Mo Kio as part of a community outreach programme.

On Sunday 24th, Soghurt will be sponsoring treats at their Bukit Timah Road outlet as the “One Week of Awesome” event culminates with a donate-in-kind drive.
