S’pore launches first expo for the disabled

Singapore’s first ever event dedicated to serving the needs of the disabled community will take place at the Singapore Expo from November 2 to 4.

Abilities Expo Singapore is a platform dedicated to individuals, families and the society to better prepare them to deal with disabilities.

It serves communities such as those recovering from immobilising accidents, seniors with age-related health concerns, children with disabilities, people with mobility and spinal issues, the vision and hearing impaired and those with developmental disabilities.

Equestrian Laurentia Tan, a bronze and silver medal winner in the London’s Paralympic Games 2012, will be the event ambassador.

The three-day event will include both exhibitions and seminar sessions by speakers who will share their knowledge on various topics such as educating individuals on matching mobility equipment to body and lifestyle, enriching the lives of children with special needs and managing ageing in the workplace.
