Elderly and physically challenged visit S.E.A Aquarium

Some 100 Yuhua residents got a chance to visit the world’s largest aquarium on Saturday.

The trip to the S.E.A. Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa’s Marine Life Park was organised as part of an effort to reach out to the elderly and physically challenged in the community.

The outreach programme is a joint collaborative effort by Yuhua Citizens’ Consultative Committee’s Welfare & Education Sub-Committee and Yuhua Active Ageing Committee. The programme hopes to target those who may be at risk of social isolation or are wheelchair bound.

Eighty elderly and seven physically challenged residents were among the partipants.

The organising committee believes the friendship forged among the elderly residents at the outing will hopefully translate into mutual care when times of need arise.
