Donating to the Community Chest has become even more convenient as it can now be done at any of the 96 iNETS kiosks easily accessible around the island.
This new partnership between Community Chest and NETS adds another channel to the existing means of giving through SingPost’s Self-service Automated Machine (SAM).
Ms Tan Bee Heong, General Manager of Community Chest, said that currently 200 donors have made used of the iNETS kiosks since last December and hope that more will follow.
As at May 2012, Community Chest has collected over $32,000 from 1,400 users who had utilised the 390 SAM and iNETS kiosks across Singapore.
Mr Loh Choo Beng, Executive Vice President (Retail & Financial Services) of SingPost also commented that many of their customers have made donations while paying their bills at SAM. Ms Cynthia Liaw from NETS says it can cultivate a “positive habit of giving to charity”.
Mr Noorul Ameen, a 23-year-old student at the National Institute of Education, agrees to this initiative. He related how he went by the traditional method of writing a cheque but now, he would use iNETS to donate as there is a kiosk near his home.
