The first Angel Tree Run and Ride came to a close on Sunday after 48 hours of running.
Participants ran twice round Singapore, raising $100,000 for Prison Fellowship Singapore (PFS), which runs the Angel Tree initiative.
Beginning at Changi Prison on Friday morning, the 46 runners and cyclists were split into eight relay teams which took turns to run over the next three days.
Each leg of the run was between 21km and 25km.
The teams included volunteers, former inmates and staff of PFS who ran 336km. It ended with a family day event at Punggol Park on Sunday.
There, about 100 former inmates and their families took part in a treasure hunt, which saw them cycling around the park.
The Angel Tree Hamper Project was started by PFS in 2005 to help inmates reconcile with their families.
Staff and volunteers from PFS gather letters written by prison inmates to their families for Christmas. These handwritten letters are then attached to hampers, which are distributed to the families of inmates islandwide.
The project, which is completely dependent on donations, aims to reach 1,000 families this holiday season.
PFS is a Christian voluntary welfare organisation with the Singapore Prison Services.
It works with a network of churches, Christian organisations, halfway houses, employment agencies like Score and the prison authorities.
It also engages a pool of more than 400 volunteers offering services in presentence care, in-care and aftercare for inmates and their families.
