Gourmet dinner raises $280,000 for charity

The inaugural Asian Masters Charity Dinner raised $280,000 for the Community Chest on Friday.

More than 200 guests, including CEOs and other business leaders, enjoyed a five-course meal prepared by chefs from the Les Amis group.

Diners also bid for wines, artworks and hotel stays, among others, in a charity auction.

Mr S. Iswaran, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry, was the guest-of-honour.

Asian Masters, a gourmet festival, runs throughout this month. It is organised by Sphere Exhibits, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings, and presented by American Express.
