Calling Volunteers for NKF Walk of Love 2014

Calling Volunteers for NKF Walk of Love 2014

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is recruiting volunteers for their Walk of Love event which will be held on 7 June 2014 (Saturday), from 5pm to 10pm.

Walk of Love aims to raise public awareness of NKF’s efforts in providing holistic care for kidney patients and motivate the community in embracing an active and healthy lifestyle through regular physical activity.

NKF runners will begin a 10km relay-run from NKF Centre to the event venue, which upon their arrival, will commence the launch of the Walk. Participants will then start their journey of a Walk of Love through a 3km brisk walk in the park, enjoying music performances evolving around the theme of “Love”, culminating with a movie screening at the cosy grounds of the park.

Roles and responsibilities of the volunteers includes:
·        Be in-charge of carnival game booths
·        Ushering
·        Providing directions for participants
·        Ensuring participants stay on course

Volunteers will be briefed by the NKF event crews during the actual day on what to do. A volunteer orientation programme will also be conducted for students to allow them to understand NKF better and how their volunteerism would help the patients.
