Family Life First (FLF) is a registered non-profit Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO) set up since 1996. Through various social welfare services, it aims to meet the physical, emotional and psychological needs of the society. Being a Family Life Ambassador, thye organisation is responsible for heightening the awareness of Family Life Education and making it more accessible to the community. It is a full affiliate member of National Council of Social Service and have IPC status to issue tax-exempt receipts.
Currently, FLF is serving the needy community in Toa Payoh. Amongst these underprivileged group, the organisation has a number of families with school-going children who are facing declining academic performance. However, due to the families’ financial status, tuition becomes a privilege which is beyond their means. Recently, FLF had received a generous sponsorship of assessment books for the children, but the problem remains that they require guidance.
FLF started its Book Treat Tuition programme last year and with the help of the programme, all the students passed their examinations and 2 of them received bursary awards. This year, there will be 14 students ranging from lower primary to lower secondary needing English/Maths/Science tuition.
Therefore, FLF is currently seeking for volunteer-tutors to help in giving tuition to them. It will be held every Tuesday from 7.00pm-9.00pm at Blk 63 Lorong 5 RC Centre Singapore 310063.
