Volunteer Recruitment for Bukit Merah Volunteers’ Service Group

Bukit Merah Volunteers’ Service Group is a group of volunteers serving in Jalan Bukit Merah, with a high population of elderly living alone.

The group visits 18 – 22 elderly living alone in rental units every Friday night from 7-9pm. Scope of volunteer work include befriending services, running minor errands for elderly like letter reading, arranging for medical support, replacement of faulty household appliances and home refurbishment services.

Address and Time: Meet at Pavilion of Blk 106 Jalan Bukit Merah S(160106), Friday, 7-9pm

Outfit: Casual as volunteers will be entering into the homes of the elderly

Requirements: All ages are welcome, so long as you believe in making a difference to the lives of the elderly. Most elderly can speak in Chinese, a few in English.

Volunteers for Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2023

The Affordable Art Fair is the largest organiser of popular art fairs in the world.

The next Singapore fair will take place from 9 – 12 November 2023 (Private View: 9 November) at the iconic F1 Pit Building within Marina Bay area.

Fair Assistants are an important part of the Affordable Art Fair Singapore. They contribute to the effective execution of the Fair, as well as promoting the significance of art in our lives, aligning with our ethos of making contemporary art accessible to everyone.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Roles and positions at the Fair may be rotated to match your personality and skills, as well as to offer a well-rounded experience.

The following roles will be assigned on site at the Fair:
• Ticketing and information counter
• Visitors meet-and-greet
• Storage of artworks
• Assist with installation/ de-installation of exhibition
• Visitors’ questionnaires
• Feature exhibitions & education programmes

DURATION :
8 to 12 November 2023, 0900 – 2200 daily.

Schedule is split into morning & afternoon shifts.
The daily timings may change according to the Fair schedule.
Working hours are according to the shift schedule provided by the Fair Team.

SELECTION:
All applications will be reviewed by the Fair Team, and you will be contacted if you are shortlisted.

A short meet-up session before the fair will be held with a member of the Fair Team for proper matching of the roles and responsibilities of the Fair Assistant.

FAIR ASSISTANTS WILL RECEIVE:
• Certificate of Appreciation
• Meals provided
• Daily remuneration ($25 per shift)
• 4x complimentary tickets for your friends and family

You can make a difference every weekend as a Playmaker!

Glyph is looking for passionate individuals who enjoy working with children. Every weekend, they run different non-academic activities for kids in arts, sports, life skills, field trips and more. Playmakers will help to facilitate these activities, engage the kids and help them with their homework.

Saturday or Sunday
9:30am – 1:00pm or 12:30pm – 5:30pm

Locations: Bugis, Boon Lay and Marsiling

Commitment: Ad-hoc or regular
