Job Scope:
• Direct spectators from the MRT stations to the event venue.
• Check the spectators’ tickets and facilitate their entry into the premises.
• Assist spectators with locating their sectors and seats.
• Distribute fun packs and other paraphernalia to the public.
• Energise, excite and engage the audience as a motivator.
• May be selected as VIP ushers assigned to the VIP sector to carry out the above-mentioned duties.

Empowerment Programme (EP) @ ITE – Calling for Volunteer Mentors

Majulah Community believes in developing a majulah community – one where every youth can change the world.

Programmes include mentoring (for youth, by youth), skills training and empowering youth to initiate community projects.

This year, Majulah Community is working with ITE and Yayasan Mendaki to run the Empowerment Programme (EP) @ ITE and you are invited to be a volunteer mentor.

Mentor role: To be a source of support and empowerment for ITE first-year students through their first months in a new environment

Duration: May to Dec 2021

Programme: Once a month, group sessions together with other mentors/mentees (experiential and reflective activities). Beyond that, you’ll check in with your mentees at least once a month.

Majulah Community is looking to match 500 interested mentees with mentors for EP @ ITE. Volunteering Opportunities with HealthServe

 

HealthServe will be conducting a virtual volunteer recruitment drive on 16 April 2021 (Friday), at 8.00 PM, and would like to call on members of the community who would like to support HealthServe in building a society where every migrant brother lives a life of dignity, to join them for its first virtual Open House and learn more about the current volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering Opportunities
(A) Outreach and Engagement Team

HealthServe will be launching a monthly on-site engagement with our migrant worker community, from May onward.

Volunteers are needed to help with outreach, assist with event setup, queue management, take measurements of height, weight, and blood pressure, help with patient education, conduct fitness workshops, and many more. A total of 5 volunteering roles are available for interested individuals to select.

Locations for on-site engagements will vary; it will generally be at the dormitories.

(B) Mental Health and Counselling Services Team
With the Covid-19 pandemic casting a spotlight on the mental wellbeing of migrant workers in Singapore, HealthServe has set up a new crisis hotline to provide emotional support to migrant workers in distress.

As such, volunteers are needed to help man the hotline daily, from 20:00 to 08:00 (three shifts total, four hours per shift).

Event Volunteers @ Gardens by the Bay

1. Event opens 9am – 9pm on weekdays and 9am – 10pm on weekends
2. Shifts are AM (0900-1530hrs) or PM (1500-2130hrs) on weekdays and AM (0900-1600hrs) or PM (1530-2230hrs)
3. 3 Shifts a month (any shift, preferred weekday slots)
4. 1 hr break during each shift
5. Package: Crew Tshirt to keep as souvenir, tickets to the event and discount on selected merchandise
6. 20% discount if complete 3 shifts in a month
7. 30% discount if complete 3 shifts a month for all the months until the end of the event run.
8. Event runs from 1 May to 1 August 2021
9. Location: various locations around Gardens by the Bay
