Calling out for Friendly Guide Volunteers along Singapore River!‏

The Singapore River One (SRO) is looking for pro-active ambassadors to help make the Singapore River a more pleasant experience.

Volunteer Programme

Proposed volunteer hours: 3pm to 8pm (5 hours block, with 30-min break)

Activity

Volunteering regularly on alternate day basis/or Volunteering 3x a week

You will be working in pairs or individually

A minimum commitment of 1 month is required

e.g. Weekdays: 2 in BQ, 2 in CQ and 1 in RQ

Weekends: 1 in BQ, 2 in CQ and 2 in RQ

Function

•Greet: Welcome visitors

•Inform: Provide directions, recommend F&B and entertainment options and offer any other kind deeds

•Observe: Be the eyes and ears of SRO

•Target start date: 1 July 2013

•Skills Required

– Outspoken, friendly personality

– Physically fit, able to stand/walk for about 5 hrs

– Able to speak and understand English

– Well-groomed

– Enjoy talking to tourists

•Polo-tee will be provided

•Training to learn more about Singapore tourist spots will be provided by: Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on 25, 26 and 27 June 2013, 9am – 5pm

•Meal/ Transport Allowance is provided at: $7.50 per hour

•Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years and above

Attached is the training details and outline. It is proposed to attend at least 2 days of training. But if a majority of you cannot make it, we might consider shifting the training to other dates.
