Looking for Volunteers for Flag Day & Bare Your Sole 2016
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing organisation with a vision to see “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.”
Habitat for Humanity builds simple, yet decent homes for less fortunate people of all backgrounds, races and religions. Here in Singapore, the organisation clean homes of elderly with low income and disabilities, who live alone in one-room rental flats in a programme called Project HomeWorks.
Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers for two of its upcoming events:
1. Flag Day
Event details as follows:
Date: 6 August 2016, Saturday
Time:
Shift 1: 9.00am – 1.00pm (Reporting time: 9.00am)
Shift 2: 12.00pm – 4.00pm (Reporting time: 12.00pm)
Funds will go toward supporting Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s projects both locally and in the region.

2. Bare Your Sole
Bare Your Sole is Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s annual barefoot walkathon which seeks to remember people in developing countries and disaster-stricken places that go about their day barefoot. This ticketed event seeks to raise funds for its aforementioned local clean-up initiative, Project HomeWorks, by encouraging people to walk barefoot for either 2km or 4km.
This will be held on 10 September 2016 (Saturday), at the OCBC Square next to Kallang Wave. Last year 2015 event was held at Palawan Beach, Sentosa and attracted 6,000 participants and raised S$350,000 for Project HomeWorks.
Volunteers may help at event pack collection booths, pack goodie bags, act as road marshals, courtesy crew or water point crew on event day, and more for these respective dates:
