Skillseed is a local social enterprise that works with schools and social sector organisations to nurture skilled volunteers through experiential learning journeys for social impact!

The social enterprise is organising an event for youths on 30th July – The Purpose Movement.

This event will be fruitful for youths who are seeking direction and additional guidance for making decisions with regards to further education or careers.

The audience will hear from a group of inspiring individuals who have utilised their expertise for worthwhile causes.

The dialogue includes an urban farmer, a young inter-disciplinary educator and a humanitarian doctor.

Besides panels on integrating purpose and passion into professional life, youths will also get the opportunity to hear from admissions representatives from Singapore Institute of Technology and Yale-NUS.

They will be sharing their perspectives on service learning projects and how sustainable and responsible service equips individuals as positive members of college communities.

Volunteering Opportunities at SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon 2016

One of Singapore’s biggest running event – the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon – is back in 2016, and the organisers are expecting a huge turnout of adrenaline-charged competitive and recreational runners!

Organised by SAFRA and the Singapore Armed Forces, this run comprises of the competitive 21km half-marathon and 10km run categories, as well as the non-competitive 5km Fun Run and 800 meters categories.

– Race Ambassadors
– Game Masters
– Pollsters

Compulsory Volunteer Briefing
Date: 18 Aug 2016 (Thurs)

Volunteer registration for RunNUS 2016 is now open!

RunNUS will be held on 21st August 2016, Sunday, in NUS from 5.30am to 12noon.

Volunteers can choose to

  • Report at NUS MPSH (Multi-Purpose Sports Hall) Carpark by 10pm on 20th August 2016. Volunteers will stay overnight in NUS and breakfast will be provided OR
  • Report at Buona Vista MRT by 5.00am on 21st August 2016 OR
  • Report at NUS MPSH Carpark by 5.30am on 21st August 2016

A volunteer shirt and lunch (at 12noon) will be provided to all volunteers.

You will be assisting as:

  • Road Marshals
  • Water point helpers

Expected commitment level for volunteers:

  • Attend a volunteer briefing in NUS, 11.30am to 1.00pm, on 13th August 2016.
  • Day of event in NUS, 5.30am to 12noon, on 21st August 2016.

CIP hours and e-certificate are provided if necessary.

Volunteer registration closes on 31st July 2016.

Volunteer at APSN Fund-Raising Carnival (3 Sep 2016)

Volunteers are needed for a booth @ APSN carnival on 3 Sep 2016 from 9 am to 6 pm.

Event: APSN Carnival 2016
Venue: APSN Tanglin School (143 Alexandra Road Singapore 159924)
Date: 3 September 2016 (Saturday)
Time: 9 am to 6 pm

As part of the fund-raising efforts, there will be boardgames for everyone as well as selling boardgames to help APSN raise funds.

Here’s how you can help.
1. Volunteer to facilitate the games by signing up for one or more slots – 9 am to 12 noon, 12 noon to 3 pm, 3 pm to 6 pm.
2. Help sell the carnival coupons.
3. Come down to the carnival with your friends and family to support the fund raising event.
