This year, EmancipAsia is organizing “STEPS in the Park” on 5 April. This is a fun run/walk to raise awareness about human trafficking.
The objectives of this event are :
• To use sport to bring people together to learn about modern-day slavery in a relaxed and fun-filled setting.
• To energise participants to want to be part of this humanity cause.
• To guide and encourage participants to take actions to help combat modern-day slavery.
Registration is open, at $10 per person. Please register early to get T-shirt of preferred size.
The Guest of Honour is Halimah Yacob. Other than the run, there will be live performances by youths, stalls (films, books and merchandise) and a mini exhibition. The highlight will be the signing on a Pledge Board by participants to take action to help to combat trafficking. It will be a positive and lively event.
Human trafficking is a crime against humanity, and the second largest global business with annual profit of US$32 bln, second only to drugs. There are 27 million slaves in the world today. Be part of the solution…and REGISTER TODAY at www.emancipasia.org/steps.
