Hope Fighters Volunteer Recruitment

Hope Fighters, a team funded by Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes, is registered with the Youth-For-Causes Programme under YMCA.

In collaboration with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS), Hope Fighters aims to raise awareness against cancer and be the source of hope for those who are affected by this illness.

This is done through various events, such as Hari Raya Festive Cheer Programme, street awareness events, school talks and the Race Against Cancer.

Event Details:
Street Awareness (management of booth and public event) : 22 August 2018 (Wednesday)
School Talks (handing out of cards): 29 August 2018 (Wednesday), contact period (for NJC students only)

VIA hours will be awarded (for all events) and light snacks will be given (for some of the events).

Be a Changemaker with Beyond I

Beyond I is organised in collaboration with Guide Dogs Singapore (GDS) with the aim of helping the visually impaired community improve their way of lives.

It is Singapore’s largest event aimed at raising awareness for the visually-impaired, and will be happening on the 29-30th June 2018 at Dhoby Ghaut Green (Next to Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station).

Venue: Dhoby Ghaut Green

Volunteer Roles:
1) Usher and front of house administration
2) Logistics and food distributors
3) Buddies for the visually impaired*
4) Teaching assistants for public education booths*
5) Servers for Singapore’s largest dining in the dark event.

*Volunteers keen on being buddies for the visually impaired or teaching assistants for public education booths will be required to go for extra training sessions.

Volunteers required for REACH Flag Day 2018

Looking for something meaningful to do this summer? REACH Flag Day 2018 is coming up on 14th July 2018.

REACH Community Services Society (RCSS) is a charitable organization serving about 3500 beneficiaries a year.

This is an island wide event held over 8 different locations, from 9am -5pm.

Volunteers can choose to commit a minimum of 2 hours, and up to the whole day if your schedule allows!

Routes of Change is looking for a Communications and Engagement Specialist

Markus Pukonen, the founder of Routes of Change, is circumnavigating the earth for five years without using a motor while raising support for local sustainability movements.

Routes of Change is seeking Social Media assistance and a Communications and Engagement Specialist to assist the CEO (Chief Exploring Officer) with communications, fundraising and marketing functions, including but not limited to:
– Publishing content across communication platforms to engage a variety of audiences (e.g., media releases, blogs, website, marketing materials)
– Curating content for social media, researching trends, related stories, etc.
– Public relations and media coordination

Skills/knowledge sought:
– Exceptional understanding of social media and best practices
– Knowledge of sustainability-related issues and challenges facing our planet.
– Other languages are an asset
– Some skills in Graphic design or open to developing it.
– Creativity, enthusiasm and a passion to follow your dreams!

You’ll thrive in this position if you are:
– Self motivated, a creative thinker with good communications skills
– Passionate about exploring online communities
– Competitive or goal oriented.

The ideal candidate may be a student pursuing a degree in Sustainability and/or Marketing and Communications looking to build their portfolio.

Note: this position is currently on a volunteer basis; opportunities for compensation will be assessed based on funding.
